If you go to Brazil and buy an iPhone, be careful because it may not be from Apple. Yes, because in the green-gold country there is a mobile phone manufacturer called Gradiente and which has been using that name for one of its smartphone models – the Neo One – since 2008. And which obviously uses the Android operating system, rival of the iOS created and used by the bitten apple.

However, the Cupertino giant had tried to impose its brand, but the Brazilian Institute for Intellectual Property (Inpi) today officially rejected Apple's registration request. So in the largest country of South America, the locomotive of the continent thanks to its rapidly growing market, the iPhone will continue to be different from those of the rest of the world. It will cost much less (about 220 euros, against the 740 of the 4S) and above all it will force the world's most famous smartphone to change its name.
