Bpci: profits +23% in the first half, credits +40%

In the first half of 2014, new disbursements of medium/long-term loans marked a significant increase (+40% approximately compared to the first half of 2013), both as regards private customers (+49% approximately) and businesses ( about +36%).

Banca Popolare Commercio e Industria (UBI group) closed the first half-year with a net profit of 30,3 million euro, up 22,9% compared to 30 June 2013 (24,7 million euro), and pre-tax profit of €47,8 million, up 12,6% year-on-year. 

"In a first half of 2014 characterized by an overall negative trend in the national economic context and with a growth in problem loans - commented the president of the institution, Alberto Barcella -, Bpci continued to interpret its role as reference bank for the territories in which it operates, without making a lack of credit for households and businesses that can continue to count on the proximity of the Bank".

The total amount of Banca Popolare Commercio e Industria's loans increased by 1,3% compared to the end of 2013. In particular, in the first half of 2014, the new disbursements of medium/long-term loans marked a significant increase ( approximately +40% compared to the first half of 2013), both as regards private customers (+49% approximately) and businesses (+36% approximately).
