Bossi to the Cavaliere: "Alfano premier". But Berlusconi resists: "I will decide after the vote on the report"

Indiscretions, denials, swings on the stock exchange. And finally a twist. The League has asked Silvio Berlusconi to give way to Angelino Alfano. In short, Umberto Bossi has second thoughts: after having argued for weeks that the only alternative to this government is early elections, the Northern League leader reverses course and turns his back on the premier. Having put away the bogeyman of the vote, which perhaps at this moment also frightens the leaders of via Bellerio, the Senatùr - at least in intention - opens the door of Palazzo Chigi wide to the former Minister of Justice and current secretary of the PDL.

Yet another attack on Cavaliere, who this time chooses to repel the offensive by stalling: “I will decide what to do - explains - after the vote on the report" of the state. The document – already rejected once by the Chamber – returns to Deputies tonight to mark a new decisive step in this legislature.

In the classroom Giulio Tremonti will also be present. This morning the Minister of Economy embarked on a flight from Brussels to Rome, choosing to desert the Ecofin summit in order not to miss the appointment which could mark the end of the Executive. There will be no so-called "discontented" members of the PDL: Roberto Antonione, Giustina Destro, Fabio Gava, Giancarlo Pittelli and Antonio Buonfiglio.

The pressure of the Premier continues on them, as well as on the honorable Isabella Bertolini and Giorgio Stracquadanio, who today were received by the Knight in person at Palazzo Grazioli. At the end of the interview, the two assured that they will express themselves for the approval of the report, but have not given any certainties regarding a possible vote of confidence.

Meanwhile the opposition determined what to do on today's vote: he will be in the Chamber to guarantee the quorum, but he will not vote. "Those who look at us must verify in an incontestable way whether Berlusconi still has the majority to govern", underlines Dario Franceschini.

The final decision on how to behave in the Chamber was reached at the end of the meeting of the group leaders of Pd, IDV and Terzo Polo. "The situation is increasingly dramatic - says the leader of the Democrats, Pier Luigi Bersani - we must tell the world that we are changing team and leadership in government".
