He is always the one to hold court US-China trade dispute, for which there are signs of improvement for an agreement that could arrive as early as today, after the American delegation reached Beijing yesterday to negotiate. On the eve of the talks, both Trump and Xi sent out positive signals already appreciated by the stock markets: the tycoon spoke of "great progress" so far and of China's willingness to reach an agreement, while Xi mentioned the "collaboration" between the two countries as the only possible option. The negative signals instead come from the Old Continent, with tensions in France and Great Britain over gilets jaunes and Brexit (the UK Parliament votes next week).

In Piazza Affari, the Ftse Mib is mainly driven by industrialists, with Atlantia (+ 3,49%) and Prysmian (+2,81%) among the best earners, followed by Juventus and Saipem, with percentages between 2 and 3%. Ferrari also continues to rise (+1,7%) after yesterday's rebound following the news of the change at the top of the Formula 1 stable: even today investors confirm that they appreciated the decision to replace Maurizio Arrivabene with Mattia Binotto. The banks are still suffering: among the worst stocks at midday, with losses of around 1%, are Unicredit and Ubi Banca, while Bper loses almost 2%. Intesa Sanpaolo also loses half a percentage point. The worst stock of the Ftse Mib in the middle of the day is Italgas which loses 2%.

The title of Carige is still suspended, due to the well-known events on which the Government also intervened, in the meantime to guarantee the bonds and then not excluding a nationalisation, as happened for MPS in the previous legislature, in compliance with the EU legislation on state aid. In the meantime, the work of commissioners appointed by the ECB: among the initiatives there is a meeting with the top management of the Interbank Fund for the redefinition of the conditions of the subordinated loan and at the same time a new due diligence has been launched for a further reduction of the institution's NPE.

Lo Btp Bund spread is stable just below 270 basis points, with the yield on the Italian 2,9-year bond in the 58% zone. In Piazza Affari, outside the main basket, the Cucinelli's thud after the accounts of Monday 7 January. Yesterday the stock had gained 3,7%, while in today's session it showed one of the worst performances on the Milan stock exchange, slipping by 9% and falling below 29 euros per share. Analysts evidently appreciated up to a certain point the growing accounts of 2018, instead considering shares too "expensive", given that they boast a premium on the competition that is almost 100%. On the other hand, the other luxury titles are doing well: Ferragamo + 1,1% Moncler + 2,1%.
