The Turkish currency recovers 5% against the dollar after the crash of the last few days and the stock markets immediately benefit: by mid-morning, Piazza Affari recovers about half a percentage point - Unicredit +1%.

The European stock markets seek relief after two sessions under pressure and, taking advantage of Tokyo's example, open higher thanks to less tension on the Turkish lira which recovers more than 5% against the dollar and the euro. The main continental indices gain half a percentage point and await data on inflation from the eurozone in the second quarter: the German data on prices (2% yoy) was slightly lower than expected. Piazza Affari rises by 0,62% in the Ftse Mib, Frankfurt marks +0,65%, Paris +0,44%, Madrid +0,57%. London opened trading at +0,2%.

As for the shares of the big names in the Milanese list, the rise of Saipem (+2,2%) and Azimut (+1,6%) continues while the bankers are attempting a redemption, a sector most penalized by Turkish tensions and the simultaneous sales of shares of State of the peripheral countries of Europe: +1% Unicredit, +1,1% Intesa Sanpaolo. Mediaset slips by 2,7% after a report by Morgan Stanley analysts who are less optimistic about the group's advertising revenues in Spain. On the currency market, the euro consolidates above 1,14 dollars and trades at 1,1415 (from 1,1410 yesterday evening). Sales on the yen used as a safe haven asset in recent days: the euro/yen exchange rate rose to 126,79 from 126,32 yesterday evening, the dollar/yen to 111,08 from 110,70. Oil rose by 0,3% both in WTI, at 67,41 dollars a barrel, and in Brent, at 72,82 dollars a barrel.
