Bags, morning of achievements in Europe

All the main European stock markets are in slightly negative territory due to the profit-taking that follows the increases recorded in recent days – Meanwhile, expectations are growing for the data on the American GDP for the first quarter: the growth of the US economy should settle around 3%, but that may be too optimistic an estimate.

Bags, morning of achievements in Europe

After six rising sessions and a 7,6% gain for the Ftse Mib, today the realizations on international markets prevail. By mid-morning, Piazza Affari yielded more than half a percentage point. The Btp-Bund spread rose slightly to 287 basis points. The other main European Stock Exchanges were also in the red: London and Frankfurt -0,2%, Paris -0,5%.

The slight decrease in the lists is attributable to the natural profit taking after the rally of the last few days. The reference framework, however, does not change, and remains positive. Four main factors: expectations for another rate cut by the ECB, the announcement by EU commissioner Olli Rehn of the possibility of easing austerity in the Eurozone, better-than-expected jobs data released yesterday by the United States and the Italian political stalemate being resolved with the formation of a new government.

In Milan the best titles are Saipem (+ 1,92%), Telecom Italy (+ 1%), Ps (+ 0,74%), Atlantia (+ 0,3%) and Azimuth (+0,28%). Instead, they are among the worst Banco Popolare (-3,93%), Prysmian  (-2,61%), Fonsai (-2,4%) And Fiat (-2,37%), after yesterday the Delaware judge called to resolve the dispute between Lingotto and the Veba fund on the value of part of the stake held by Veba in Chrysler (equal to a total of 41,5%) would have expressed preliminarily in favor of Veba.

The realizations hit the banks, rewarded in recent days by the decline in the spread. In addition to Banco Popolare, they also travel in the red Ubi (-2,10%), Bper (-1,51%) And Unicredit (-1,49%). It also drops Mediaset (-2,14%), after six consecutive sessions of increases and a gain of 16,7%.

Meanwhile, the expectation for the data on the American GDP Q3 Report, which will be released today. The growth of the US economy should be around XNUMX%, however an overly optimistic estimate according to some economists, given the spending cuts made at the beginning of the year and the series of negative macro indicators published in March.
