Bags, Black Monday: Milan is the worst

Black Monday for the European stock exchanges which travel in deep red in the middle of the day, weighed down by three worries that are leaving no way out for any market on the old continent. The first comes from the United States where Democratic Senator Joe Manchin announced his No to the maxi infrastructure plan worth 2 trillion dollars wanted by President Biden. A vote against that cancels any possibility of approval for a law that many considered essential to support the US economic recovery.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, the Chinese central bank has decided to cut the "loan prime rate", between the preferential rates offered by commercial banks to customers and a reference for the rates applied to other loans: the LPR at one year passes from 3,85% to 3,80%, while the 5-year one remains unchanged at 4,65%. To complete the scenario there are the now traditional fears about the spread of the Omicron variant in Europe, with infections that have increased by 40% in a week in Italy and could push the Government to launch a new squeeze for New Year's Eve.

In this context, Business Square it loses more than 2%, barely remaining above 26 points. Strong sales also a Frankfurt (-1,9%), while Paris, Madrid, Amsterdam and London they yield just over 1%.

On the Ftse Mib they travel above parity only Diasorin (+0,76%), which after the crash on Friday tries to raise its head again, e Prysmian (+0,16%). The other 38 stocks with the largest capitalization are in deep red. The banking sector is bad, with Mediobanca (-3,28%), Bpm desk, (-3,23%), Unicredit (-1,92%) And Understanding (-1,75%), while outside the main list Ps it dropped 3,36% after the presentation of the new industrial plan which sets the capital increase to be carried out at 2,5 billion by 2022.

The worst headline of the day is Nexi (-3,47%), sales also on industry: Atlantia, Stellantis, Leonardo and Exor recorded decreases of around 3%. Also in red Telecom Italy (-1,66%) after the departure of Gubitosi, and the oil companies (Eni e Saipem both at -2,8%) on which the thud of black gold weighs, with the Brent which travels at 71,33 dollars per barrel (-2,97%).
