Stock exchanges fluctuate but Piazza Affari closes just below parity

An entire trading session on the roller coaster, but Piazza Affari limits the damage and closes just below parity – Yoox, Mediaset, Atlantia, Buzzi and Bper among the brightest blue chips – Moncler, Ferragamo, Cnh, Telecom Italia and Mps – The Btp auction is good – Oil is down again.

Thanks to the strong recovery in the final Piazza Affari reduces losses to 0,19%: investors are betting on an increase in the ECB's purchase plan. The losses of the other European Stock Exchanges were heavier: London -0,9%, Paris -0,9%, Frankfurt -0,8%. In Germany, the Zew index, which measures the sentiment of financial analysts and investors, fell to 55,2 from 67,5 the previous month, influenced by the Volkswagen case. In Europe, the sectors with the greatest decline are banks -1,7%, insurance -1,6%, raw materials -1,6%.

In mid-afternoon, Wall Street cleared the initial loss and moved to parity: the S&P500 index is unchanged, on a par with the Nasdaq and Dow Jones. The market has thus digested the data of the Chinese trade balance. Oil moved little after Monday's slide: Brent at 50,2 dollars a barrel (+0,8%), Wti at 47,7 dollars (-0,7%). According to the executive director of the International Energy Agency, Nobuo Tanaka, the price of crude oil will not return above 100 dollars a barrel before 2020, the year in which the production of shale gas will begin to decline.

Speeches by the president of the St. Louis Fed are expected tonight. James Bullard and New York Fed Chairman William Dudley. But the expectation for the accounts, with closed markets, of Intel -0,3% and J.P. Morgan Chase -0,1%. Johnson & Johnson -0,8% beat analysts' expectations despite a quarterly decline.

The heaviest losses concern Moncler who closed the session with a tumble: -6,4% on rumors of disappointing results in the third quarter. Instead, it is positive Yoox +1,9%. The oil companies go up: Eni closed unchanged, Saipem -0,9%. On positive ground Tenaris + 0,4%. Enel closed with a slight increase of 0,2%. Down Telecom Italy which lost 2,5%. Mediaset it eliminated the initial losses and closed with a gain of 0,9%.

Fight the banks: Unicredit -0,6% Understanding + 0,2% MontePaschi -1,8%. Unchanged Fiat Chrysler, bounce Finmeccanica rose by 1%, StM it lost 1,2%. New beating for Industrial Driver's License -2,6%.
