The stock lists on the two sides of the Atlantic run on very distinct tracks. Wall Street futures mark time, under the shock of Netflix's crash (-25% after the Stock Exchange) which reduced optimism about the upcoming quarterly reports. The Wall Street Journal anticipates that the platform, to stop the bleeding of profits, could introduce advertising among the programs. On the contrary, among the European lists there are some more or less unpublished "nuggets". Fly over everyone Danone +8,80% in Paris. The rally can be explained both by the accounts (+7,1% turnover) and by the indiscretions of Letter A, a specialized newsletter, which revealed the advances of Lactalis to take over more of the group's businesses. 

It is not the only stock highlighted after the quarterly: Heineken is running +4%, with strong growth. In Piazza Affari the star of Banco Bpm shines +4,8%, held back yesterday by the coupon detachment. On the chip front, the Dutch ASML +7% take off, closely followed by Stm +3,6%. 

Stock Exchange to the rescue in Europe

Thanks to these performances, the indices of the Old Continent are advancing: Piazza Affari rises by an abundant percentage point, once again one step away from the 25 mark. Thanks to Danone, Paris is doing better +1,4%, pending tonight's TV debate between the two candidates for the Elysée. Frankfurt +1,09%.

This morning the run of the bond markets slowed down after the peaks reached by the US T bond, back to 2,9% from 3% overnight. The Bunds are also holding back at 0,87%, even more are the BTPs at 2,48%. The spread slides to 162 points.

The slowdown in yields does not prevent the recovery of financials, starting with Intesa Sanpaolo + 3,29%. Unicredit also rises +1,99% which publishes the estimates of the 22 analysts covering the stock. For the first quarter of this year, the consensus estimates for the bank led by Andrea Orcel, an average net profit of 413 million euros compared to the 887 million of the balance sheet for the same period 2021.

Of note among the financials Crédit Suisse -1%: the group expects a loss in the first quarter due to an increase in provisions for legal expenses, the slowdown in commercial activity and the impact of the war in Ukraine. 

Benetton bets on Dufry and goes with Caltagirone on Generali

Dufry also lost ground in Zurich -1,75%, the duty free giant in talks to acquire control of Autogrill in exchange for shares, an operation that will allow the Benettons to remain the number one shareholder of the new group. The group from Ponzano Veneto, with a strong 4% stake, according to rumors, will support the list presented by Caltagirone at the Generali meeting.

Among the market rumors, the voice on a possible integration between Leonardo +1,11% and Fincantieri +0,57% stands out with the aim of creating a single major defense player.

Still positive Saipem +1,19% on the eve of the board meeting on the accounts.
