Piazza Affari superstar: the Milanese price list closes another positive session, +1,24% and conquers 24 thousand basis points, confirming itself as the best in Europe in today's session, as in the course of 2019 (+30% approximately). Queen of the price list is Enel, +2,93%, first by market capitalization and at the top for over 11 years.

Wall Street contributes to the climate of confidence which, after yesterday's records, is back on top again and is making further progress. The Christmas rally seems to prevail over volatility on the day of the three witches, which occurs the quarterly expiration of index futures contracts, index options and stock options. Optimism is nourished by hope on the trade agreements between the US and China and on American growth: +2,1% GDP in the third quarter, in line with analysts' expectations.

The European lists are also in the area: Zurich hits an all-time high and closes up by 1,05%. Frankfurt climbs 0,8%, close to the highs of 2017. Paris, +0,82%, has been at the top for 12 years. Good Madrid +0,58. Flat London, +0,07%, which has led the dance of earnings in recent sessions. The City takes a breather as the pound strengthens as Boris Johnson appoints Andrew Bailey as the new governor of the Bank of England.

Meanwhile, the House of Commons has approved the divorce law of the United Kingdom from the European Union, after having rejected it several times in recent months. Finally, news arrives from Buckingham Palace that Prince Philip, ninety-eight-year-old consort of Queen Elizabeth, has been hospitalized as a precaution for treatment of a previous pathology.

The euro weakens, losing 0,4% against the dollar and currently trading at 1,107. The gold is pale, around 1480 dollars an ounce, while oil, after six sessions on the rise, loses a few hits: Brent -0,51%, 66,20 dollars a barrel.

Business Square approaches the Christmas holidays with a brilliant seat, despite the current weakness of the banks and the spread at 164 basis points (+1,39%). The yield on the 10-year BTP rises to 1,4%. Of note is the appointment of Daniele Franco as general manager of Bankitalia, a vacant role following the passage of Fabio Panetta as member of the Executive Committee of the European Central Bank. Franco, former deputy director, was appointed by the Superior Council of the central institute, on the proposal of the Governor. 

At the bottom of the main list are Ubi -2,33%; Bper -0,96%; Banco Bpm -0,54%; Finecobank -0,5%. Down Saipem -0,91%.

The biggest increases are for Telecommunications, +2,75%, the day following the green light for the merger of Inwit with Vodafone Towers. Generali gains 2,6% and Unipolsai says goodbye to the FTSE Mib with an increase of 1,99%. On Monday it will have to make way for Banca Generali, -0,55%. In evidence Generali +2,6%. Still on the upswing, Nexi +2,35%, after the agreement with Intesa on payment systems.

Among the mid caps Dovalue makes a jump of 10,33%, following yesterday's agreement, to acquire 80% of Greece's Eurobank Financial Planning Services.
