Roaring day for stock lists. Europe advances in the footsteps of Paris +2,77%, invigorated by the measures of war against terrorism, including the request for a budget expansion to meet defense needs. Piazza Affari rises above 22.200 points with an increase of more than 2,28% in line with Madrid and Frankfurt +2,41%. London +1,99%.
The drop in the euro contributes to the bull's charge, to its seven-month low against the dollar at around 1,0638. Wall Street is down slightly: Dow Jones -0,1%, S&P500 -0,1% and Nasdaq -0,1%. The macroeconomic data published today show the resurgence of inflation, but also an unexpected contraction in industrial production, which fell by 0,2% in October. Consumer prices recorded their first increase in October after three months of decline.
WTI oil loses 1% to 41,3 dollars a barrel. On the price list it bounces Wal-Mart +3%. Earnings per share for the third quarter were better than forecast. Oil markets stable: Exxon +0,1%.
Defense stocks are growing strongly. In Piazza Affari the best blue chip is Finmeccanicto +5,43% beyond the threshold of 13 euros. Among financial stocks Understanding advances by 1,28%.
