Borsalino, No to the concordat: the historic hat company went bankrupt

Borsalino went bankrupt. The Court of Alessandria rejected the composition request presented by Haeres Equita Srl, a company led by the Swiss entrepreneuror Camperio, which manages the famous hat company after the lease of the branch.

The unions made the news known. A meeting with the curators Stefano Ambrosini and Paola Barisone and the workers is scheduled for this afternoon. We have already asked for one meeting with the bankruptcy trustees and, in the afternoon, we will also meet the workers”, commented Elio Bricola of Uil.

It should be emphasized that the court's No to the arrangement request comes after the revocation of the first occurred in December 2016.

Borsalino, historic brand of Made in Italy:, became famous all over the world on the occasion of the film Casablanca, in which both protagonists, in the main scene of the film, wore headdresses signed by the Alessandrian company. A few months ago the Ministry of the Economy wanted it to be dedicated to Borsalino a stamp to celebrate 160 years of history and place it among the "Excellence of the production system".
