The Brazilian telecommunications group Oi announces in a note released during the night that it has instructed the investment bank Banco Btg Pactual to prepare a plan for the purchase of the stake held by Telecom Italia in Tim Participacoes, the holding company that controls Tim Brasil.
The news comes on the day in which the Telecom Italia board presents its counter-offer for the Brazilian Gvt to Vivendi: it is worth between 7 and 7,2 billion euros against 6,7 billion for Telefonica which, however, is ready to relaunch in sight of tomorrow's board of the Bollorè group. The expectation is making Telecom Italia shares soar in Piazza Affari: by mid-morning it is gaining more than 3% in 0,862 euro.
