Monte dei Paschi gains 5,22% to 1,149 euros on the first day of trading of the week, establishing itself as the best stock on the Ftse Mib. The Sienese institute is prompted by the statements made last Friday at the Piccolo di Trieste by the president of the Mps Foundation, Marcello Clarich, who explained that he wants to extend the syndicate agreement to the French insurance group Axa, currently credited with 2,052% of the capital.
Enlargement would make it possible to give greater stability to the group. MPS also benefits from the new narrowing of the spread which dropped to 154 basis points at the opening. Mps has Btp budgets for over 20 billion euros.
