STOCK EXCHANGE LATEST NEWS: Europe on the rise driven by industrialists, Piazza Affari +6,7% since the beginning of 2023

STOCK EXCHANGE LATEST NEWS: Europe on the rise driven by industrialists, Piazza Affari +6,7% since the beginning of 2023

The European stock exchanges rebounded and moved slightly below the day's margins in the middle of the session. The best is Madrid, which rose by 1,1% driven by the Cellnex (+9%) which rises on the rumors of a takeover bid by the US giant American Towers and the Canadian fund Brookfield. They follow Frankfurt (+ 0,43%), Paris (+ 0,57%) and Amsterdam (+ 0,15%). 

Travel sharply up too Business Square which, gaining 0,93%, rises to 25.810 points. Since the beginning of the year, the Ftse Mib has recovered 6,7% of its value. 

Mainly industrial stocks and insurance companies (in Milan Generali +2,77% on the day in which the buyback of up to 210 million euros starts) and the travel sector. 

Towards the opening of Wall Street

Meanwhile Wall Street is heading towards an uncertain opening. In the US, the eyes are focused above all on Netflix which in the pre-market rises by 6,74% after the subscription boom. Spotlights also on Google (+3,77%) which announced its intention to cut 12 jobs.

What's happening in Piazza Affari

ON the Ftse Mib is Saipem (+6,15%) to wear the pink jersey of the day after the offshore contracts for around 900 million. Strong purchases also on Iveco (+ 3,55%) and Prysmian (+ 2,55%). 

 In the queue there is instead Amplifon (-4,12%), with Equita which revised its estimates for the group in a slowing market context. Pirelli (-1,7%) was also negative, paying for the weak December sales results of its French rival Michelin (-2,3% in Paris). 

Oil, gas, currencies and spreads

On the energy front, purchases are cooling down Petroleum, which reduces earnings compared to the morning. At 14 the futures of wtf March they move at 80,73 dollars a barrel (+0,25%), those of Brent for the same maturity they mark +0,1% to 86,23 dollars, which is why also the securities of the sector, in the previous hours in good shape, have slowed down, with the exception of Saipem.

However, prices are on the rise natural gas, with February contracts rising by 3,6% to 62,9 euros per megawatt hour on the Amsterdam stock exchange. 

on the currency theeuro it remains above the threshold of 1,08 on the greenback, settling at 1,082 dollars (1,085 at the start, from 1,0839 at the close yesterday). The euro/yen is at 140,631 (139,707 at the opening, from 139,79 yesterday) and the dollar/yen exchange rate at 129,92 (from 128,87). 

Finally it spread is up 175 points from the 172 points of the previous opening and closing, with the ten-year yield up to 3,9% from 3,77% at the previous closing.
