Stock market, Ubi Banca still in the abyss

New collapse in Piazza Affari for the Ubi Banca share, which in mid-morning leaves four and a half percentage points on the field, at 5,98 euros, signaling itself as the worst share of the Ftse Mib. Yesterday, the institution's shares had closed down by 1,8%, managing to limit the damage after a very difficult session.

Although the profit has more than doubled in the first three months, investors' attention is still focused on the searches by the Guardia di Finanza in the offices of managers and former managers of the Bank. The operation, which took place yesterday, is linked to an investigation by the Bergamo prosecutor's office for fraud and obstacle to supervision.

A note from Ubi specified that the searches derive from the complaints of 2012 by Giorgio Jannone and Elio Lannutti and relating to Ubi Leasing and Ubi Factoring, as well as from a complaint dated July 2013 presented by the supervisory board members elected from the minority list "in to the alleged existence of hidden shareholders' agreements.
