Tokyo Stock Exchange +1% in the wake of the dollar against the yen

The Topix index, which includes companies with more than 1.700 employees, closed up 0,41% – The dollar was worth around 102,20 yen at the close while the euro was trading at 14i yen.

La Tokyo Stock Exchange closed up 1,01% following the recovery of the dollar against the yen. At the end of trading, the index Nikkei gained 145,73 points, to 14.622,89, points while the index Topix, which includes companies with more than 1.700 employees, closed up 0,41% to 1.176,90 points. The session was quite active with 2,5 billion stocks trading on the main market.

In closing the dollar it was worth about 102,20 yen while the euro was trading at 14i yen. At the start of the day, however, the Tokyo market had started down in the wake of Wall Street's results and due to the strengthening of the yen linked to fears about the Ukrainian crisis. Then, towards the end of the morning, the yen began to lose ground against the dollar, an event always highly appreciated by the market, and the stock market reversed its trend.
