Stock Exchange: Telecom Italia sinks to its lowest level since September 2013

Telecom Italia increasingly in difficulty. In Piazza Affari, the stock travels today down by 2,3%, even slipping to 58 cents per share. Such a low value has not been seen since September 2013.

On a weak day for the whole sector, with the Ftse Italia Telecomunicazioni down by 2%, the shares of the company led by Amos Genish are placed at the bottom of the Ftse Mib, achieving the worst performance among the blue chips.

At the base of the sell off the rumors published by Sun 24 hours according to which, the company could follow the model inaugurated in France by Orange that will soon say goodbye to copper and the "landline".

But Tim's bad stock market performance is mainly affected by the instability of the top (Does the CEO Genish stay or leave?) and of the shareholders, because the balance between Vivendi who dreams of revenge and the Eliott fund which, after having collected the turnaround, is unable to impose the turning point (what happened to the conversion of savings) and has not yet clearly decided what to do.

Broadening the horizon of analysis with respect to today, the stock market data becomes even more worrying. In the month of August, in the wake of the umpteenth rumors about the departure of CEO Genish, Telecom Italia shares lost almost 12 percent, which becomes -20,6% in the last six months.

From the highs of 2018 marked in April with a rally due to the battle in the shareholders' meeting between Elliott and Vivendi, the prices have dropped by more than a third (-34%) bringing the market capitalization below 9 billion euros.
