In Piazza Affari, the star of Telecom Italia shines, gaining 1,44% on the Stock Exchange in the late morning, signaling itself as one of the best stocks on the Italian list, which in the same minutes travels in negative territory.
The prices of the telephone company are driven by the rumors, reported by the Wall Street Journal, of an offer on Tim Brasil by the Brazilian group Oi which last week announced a capital increase of more than double the funds needed to complete its merger with Portugal Telecom (approximately $4,7 billion).
According to the Wall Street Journal, Oi would aim to acquire around 50% of Tim Brasil's current assets, thus confirming the hypotheses on the possibility that Tim Brasil will be bought and divided by other operators on the market.
