Stock market, Mediaset rises on rumors of an alliance with Al Jazeera-Canal Plus

The rumors about possible new partners for the Biscione are pushing the share upwards, which are enlivening the pay TV game at European level: the scenario could in fact see the birth of a new alliance on a continental scale between Mediaset, Al Jazeera and Canal in May Plus, to counter the Sky empire.

The Stock Exchange bets on Mediaset, pending the shareholders' meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 29 April. As often happens to push the title up are the rumors about possible new partners for the Biscione, which are enlivening the pay TV game at European level, and which could play a decisive role in the acquisition of Serie A rights, after Mediaset won the Champions League from 2015 to 2018. 

The scenario could in fact see the birth of a new one in May alliance on a continental scale between Mediaset, Al Jazeera and Canal Plus. In the background there is the eternal challenge with the channels of Rupert Murdoch, Sky and Fox. First of all, the battle for rights for Serie A, with the auction in mid-May, in which Mediobanca analysts expect "extremely aggressive offers".

At the opening of the Stock Exchange on title Mediaset immediately gains 2% a 3,856 euro.
