Stock Exchange, Rcs +15% after the restructuring

The day after the storm, the Rcs Mediagroup soars on the Stock Exchange gaining more than 15%. Yesterday was the day of great changes for the publishing group that controls, among others, Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere della Sera. Three days before its expiry, the trade union pact has voted for a list of 12 directors, of which 5 independent and four direct expression of the shareholders of the agreement, thus marrying the line desired by Fiat and Mediobanca and mutilating, in this way, the old board of 21 members.

Also yesterday's news is the passage of the presidency to Angelo Provasoli and the controversial departure of Diego Della Valle, which requested and obtained the release of its share, equal to 5,4%, from the agreement.

Analysts have however generally deemed the reduction of the company's board of directors positive, with Mediobanca which revised upwards the opinion on the share, which went from neutral to outperform, even if some experts wanted to underline the risks deriving from the probable sale of the stake by Della Valle, after the release from the agreement and vitriolic statements on John Elkann and Renato Pagliaro, defined as two “amateurs in jeopardy.
