The Tokyo Stock Exchange's Nikkei index closed higher after four negative sessions, driven by a weakening of the yen against the dollar due to US employment data. The index gained 1,10% (184,71 points) at the close of trading, reaching 17.004,30. It had lost about 4% last week. The Topix index rose 0,84% (11,44 points) to 1.380,41 points. Since the beginning of the year, the Japanese index had lost around 12%.
The Chinese stock exchanges were closed for the whole week, on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.
Brent up to 34,4 dollars (+1,2%) and Wti to 31,26 dollars (+1.2%).
