The profit-taking hit Banca Mps' share on the Stock Exchange, which at the end of the morning dropped just over four percentage points, to 0,2543 euros. The shares of the Sienese institute lead the declines of the banks together with bpm (-10,25%) and Banco Popolare (-3,94%), Bper (-4,72%) and Banca Etruria (-9,23%).
They took off on Monte dei Paschi the achievements after the excellent performances of the last few weeks. The increases had been encouraged by the fact that the Sienese bank has become contestable thanks to the sale of the shares held by the MPS Foundation.
From March 3 to April 3, Rocca Salimbeni shares gained more than 60%. Furthermore, the institute is preparing to launch a capital increase of three billion.
