Borsa, Mps and Mediaset sink in Piazza Affari. The Italian services index is bad

Piazza Affari attempted the rescue in the morning. But, thanks to the banks, it was forced to withdraw. The index Ftse Mib loses 0,55% to 18.265 points. The other European Stock Exchanges are also negative: London -0,12%, Paris -0,07%, Frankfurt -0,08%. Earn only Madrid +0,09%.

Eurozone private sector data disappointing. The Eurozone composite PMI index edited by Markit, which monitors the activity of thousands of companies in the service and manufacturing sector, fell in November from 51,9 in October to 51,7. Among the individual countries of the euro area, Italy was the most disappointing, where activity in the service sector returned to contraction in November, after the timid recovery recorded in the previous two months. The Markit/Adaci index slipped from 50,5 to 47,2 last month.

According to Markit economist Phil Smith, in the face of today's weak data, "the return to contraction in service sector activity in November lifts serious doubts about Italy's exit from the recession in the last quarter, especially given the pace of the decline and how new order flows have shown considerable weakness."

After the sale of the Fresh bond for a value of around 96 million which took place in recent days, it is not clear whether other strategic decisions will be taken today. However, financial sources speak of "contacts with Italian and foreign funds and with some private entities". At current market prices, 33,5% of the bank is worth about 650 million.

The other banks are down: Intesa retains a minimum gain of 0,06%, Banco Popolare -0,81%, Unicredit -0,2%. Insurance companies are down slightly: Generali -0,24%, Fondiaria-Sai -1,1%.

Among the industrial stocks, Pirelli +1,37% and Fiat +0,18% advanced. Weak Prysmian -1,87% and Finmeccanica -0,89%. Indesit rises by 1,8% after the agreement with the unions on the restructuring plan: Kepler-Cheuvreux has raised the target price to 12,7 euros and confirmed the "buy" rating.

Telecom Italia fell by 1,61% despite rumors of Vodafone's interest in the Italian telecommunications company. Mediaset shoulder which drops by 3,19%.
