Stock Exchange: Milan up with banks and Agnelli, Atlantia recovers

Very positive session for the European markets, in the wake of the Asian stock exchanges – Piazza Affari gains around 2% in the middle of the day: only Diasorin and Atlantia are in negative territory, which however limits the damage pending the decision on the revocation.

Stock Exchange: Milan up with banks and Agnelli, Atlantia recovers

Super seat for Piazza Affari. The week opens with the Ftse Mib gaining around 2% at midday, firmly above 19.000 points. Virtually all the stocks are in positive territory, apart from Atlantia which is obviously in the eye of the storm over the issue of motorway concessions: revocation may take place next Friday and the stock will lose, in stark contrast, about half a percentage point. From a night summit at Palazzo Chigi held on Sunday it would have emerged that the government's orientation is to go ahead with the revocation of the concession to Autostrade, if the parent company does not receive responses by 30 September that allow it to continue the path decided in July by the government to make ASPI public with the entry of CDP.

According to some rumors, in a letter sent to Atlantia, the Government contests above all the decision to proceed with a autonomous sale of Aspi, as resolved by the board of directors of the holding company last Thursday, identifying two paths for the disengagement from the concessionaire: the demerger in favor of the current shareholders (a procedure which in theory could also see the participation of Cdp, if interested) or the transfer en bloc of the 88 %. According to La Stampa, Atlantia will respond to the government by setting new conditions, but leaving room for negotiation.

Same trend also for Diasorin, which is still affected by the tensions around the vaccine. The rest, however, is a triumphal ride, which is affected by the positive energy of Wall Street and above all of the Asian stock exchanges, driven upwards by the recovery of the economy of China, which has now closed the emergency and is preparing to experience the Golden Week. i.e. the holiday season. In Milan it stands out Cnh Industrial, which is close to 5%, recovering from last week's meltdown. News of the resignation of Nelda J. Connors, Independent Director of the Board of Directors of CNH Industrial NV and member of its Audit Committee, arrived just this morning.

In great dust too the other titles in the Agnelli galaxy: FCA +4,2%, Exor +3,6%, Ferrari +1,4%. The banks are also flying, in particular Unicredit and Mediobanca, which at midday are earning over 4,5%. Intesa Sanpaolo 2,7%. Energies are clearly visible: Saipem is the best with 5%, then Eni +2,2% and Enel +1,5%. Oil is actually losing ground: Brent below 42 dollars a barrel, Wti almost 40 dollars. The euro appreciated slightly against the dollar, trading at 1.16474 at mid-day. Finally, the Btp-Bund spread, which back below 140 basis points after the dangerous rise of last Friday's closing. The other European lists also did very well: the best is Frankfurt where the Dax gains almost 3%, the rise in London is more tepid, in the vicinity of Brexit.
