Stock market, Mediobanca falls after Pact news. Bolloré rises more than 7%

The shareholders' meeting of the Mediobanca shareholders' agreement has closed, during which the expected changes to the agreement which binds 31,05% of the bank's capital were approved. As several pact supporters reported at the end of the meeting, the three groups (A, B, C) into which Mediobanca's large shareholders were divided were abolished and some changes were approved which lighten the structure of the agreement.

“Everything went as planned. All agreed. The pact has been simplified, the structure trimmed a bit”, indicated a participant in the pact upon leaving Mediobanca. One of the changes concerns the directors of the pact, who will have eminently instructive powers because all decision-making powers pass to the assembly, as explained by a source.

Meanwhile, again this morning, the news arrived that the French financier Vincent Bollorè is still joining Mediobanca. The shareholder increased his stake in the capital of the Piazzetta Cuccia institute to 7,01% from the 6,46% announced at the beginning of July, as reported by Pact sources at the end of today's meeting. The total share tied to the Pact by the large shareholders therefore rises to 31,05%. Bollorè was authorized to go up to 8%.

However, the news is not convincing Business Square: after briefly exceeding the threshold of 7 euro per share in the morning, after midday the Mediobanca stock lost 2,5% to 6,84 euro.
