Stock Exchange: Mediaset runs in Italy and Spain on a reorganization hypothesis

Mediaset protagonist on the Stock Exchange. Not only in Italy, where the stock gains 2,52% to 2,683 euros, but also in Spain, where Mediaset España shares were suspended by the Comision Nacional del Mercado de Valores (the Spanish Consob) while they registered a 9% increase .

The purchases on the Cologno Monzese-based company were triggered by the rumors about the convening of an extraordinary board of directors for this afternoon which will deal with issues related to the corporate reorganization of the holding company. At the center of the discussion there may also be Mediaset Spain, despite the fact that the Italian parent company has already denied the news relating to the promotion of a takeover bid on the company's currently unheld shares. The note was released following an article by Bloomberg according to which the group would aim to bring the Iberian company under the same roof, through a buy-out.

However, the denial did not make investors desist from the purchases since there could be something even bigger on the plate. According to rumors, after the acquisition of 9,6% of the capital of the German company ProsiebenSat.1 (+2,17% in Frankfurt), Mediaset would have decided to make the leap in quality.

The company is building thehypothesis of transferring the group's holding company to the Netherlands to then sign a European alliance aimed at creating a generalist TV. Il Messaggero reports that the "move" could take place through a merger with a Dutch company: the transfer of the registered office abroad is one of the cases that leads to providing for a right of withdrawal in favor of the shareholders.

It should be considered that in the Netherlands, Mediaset already has a company, Mediaset Investments.
