Stock market, the coupon detachment of Enel and Snam weighs on Piazza Affari

Mixed session and little movement for the main European squares, thanks to the absence of Wall Street, in celebration of Martin Luther King Day. Business Square loses 0,57% and stops on the crest of 24 thousand points, penalized by sales on Moncler (-3,16%) and banks and from coupon detachment di Snam (-2,16%) ed Enel (-1,24%).

Sales prevail a London -0,32% Paris -0,36% Madrid -0,22%. Of the opposite sign Frankfurt +0,17%, where it is highlighted Prosiebensat (+2,21%), investee Mediaset (-0,5% in Milan), thanks to a Citi recommendation.

Today's sentiment remains opaque even after the IMF's World Economic Outlook update was released in Davos. For the general manager Kristalina Georgieva from the "synchronized slowdown" of October we have passed to "signs of stabilization and slow recovery". In short, there is no toast. Positive steps such as the "phase one" agreement between the US and China and towards an orderly Brexit, are overshadowed by the heightened geopolitical tensions, by the underlying trade tensions, by "a dramatic impact of the shock from the climate crisis, especially in Australia and in parts of Africa”. Furthermore, without the accommodative policy of central banks, which is worth about 0,5% of global growth, "we would technically be talking about a recession". Translated into numbers after +2,9% in 2019, world GDP is expected to grow by 3,3% this year and 3,4% next, respectively 0,1 and 0,2 percentage points less than estimates previous. The downward revision is linked to the slowdown of some emerging economies, especially India. The Italian economy is always particularly anemic: +0,2% in 2019, +0,5% in 2020, +0,7% in 2021. For the entire Eurozone, Fund experts see growth of 1,3, 2020% in 0,1 (-1,4% compared to October) and 2021% in XNUMX (unchanged).

Going back to the day's numbers: on the currency market theeuro-dollar it is little moved, around 1,108. Among commodities, gold is stable at 1560,95 dollars an ounce. The Petroleum progress is also due to tensions in Libya, where the National Oil Corporation (NOC) yesterday announced the closure of two fields after Libyan National Army forces blocked an oil pipeline. Brent +0,71%, 65,30 dollars a barrel.

The tensions on crude oil do not give particular impetus to the oil stocks of Piazza Affari, especially since Eni (-0,24%) is a shareholder of one of the two blocked plants. Well Saipem, +0,64%

In the rest of the price list, purchases pay off pirelli, +1,7%, partly supported by rumors, already denied, about a possible merger with the Finnish Nokian Tyres. Well Post +0,92%; stm +0,76%; Prysmian +1,34%; Atlantia + 0,97%.

The black jersey belongs to Moncler, down from Snam, which distributed a coupon of 0,095 euros per share. For the same reasons Enel is in red, with an interim dividend for 2020 of 0,16 euros per share. Bad Diasorin -1,8%.

Profit-taking sinks the banks: Unicredit -1,75%; Ubi -1,73%; Bpm bank -1,32%.

The session is moderately positive for bonds: lo spread between Italian and German ten-year bonds it drops to 161 basis points (-1,4%), with a yield on the BTP of 1,35%.
