Stock market, profit taking causes Tokyo to fall

Closing down for the Tokyo Stock Exchange, held back by profit-taking after about ten positive sessions and by the retreat of the dollar against the yen. The Nikkei index of leading stocks ended the session down by 0,59% (-92,03 points) at 15.521,22 points. The broader Topix index closed down 0,49% (-6,30 points) at 1.285,01 points. Weak session with just over 1,8 billion shares traded. At the close of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the dollar was hovering around 104,20 yen. The euro dropped to 103,87 yen. The stronger yen tends to dissuade investors from betting on the securities of exporting groups.
