Stock market in slight progress with Leonardo's rebound

Markets disoriented, after yesterday's crash on Wall Street and the London terrorist bombings today. In this climate Milan scores a cautious +0,17%, 19.953 points. Same result for Madrid; the other price lists are in red: Paris, -0,15%; Frankfurt -0,48%; London -0,73%. The British capital, shortly before 16 pm, was the scene of a double attack in front of the doors of parliament: a man with Asian features first allegedly ran over passers-by on Westminster bridge and then stabbed a policeman in the courtyard of parliament. 

Negative opening for the main New York stock exchanges, which, however, change gears in a short time: Nasdaq and S&P 500 are now fractionally up, while the Dow Jones travels backwards, penalized by Nike's slip of more than 6% in quarterly revenues below expectations.

Oil is losing ground, after data on US inventories higher than expected (gasoline inventories, however, are decreasing), but raises its head from the intraday lows. After falling below 50 dollars a barrel, Brent is now at 50,35 (-1,2%). The euro-dollar ratio was stable at 1,08. Gold remains brilliant: 1249,23 dollars per ounce (+0,27%).

On the secondary: the Italian 2,27-year yield falls to XNUMX%, pulled by the strength of the German Bund. The spread rises slightly: 185.40 points (+0,11%). Tomorrow the banks of the euro area will have the last chance to obtain four-year loans from the ECB at extremely convenient conditions, according to the scheme envisaged by the second series of the Targeted long-term refinancing operation programme. According to the estimates of the UniCredit strategist, Luca Cazzulani, approximately 125-130 billion of funds are potentially available for Italian banks.

In Piazza Affari Leonardo is the best blue chip and recovers 1,63%, after losing about 8% in the past few sessions. Investors reevaluate the arrival of Alessandro Profumo. Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan defends the government's decision and the manager chosen for "his experience in international development and ability to manage highly complex business situations".

Positive rebound also for Stm: +1,46%. Salvatore Ferragamo is well tuned, +1,29%, while in luxury Hermes presents accounts in great shape, but does not take advantage of it on the Paris Stock Exchange. Good for Telecom +0,68%: Credit Suisse has raised the target price on the stock and its Ebitda estimates. Bankers, after a weak start, are taking different paths. Unicredit exuberant +1,26%; flat Entente +0,08%; weak Banco Bpm -1,17%. In asset management, Azimut loses one percentage point.

Among the insurance companiesand sales hit Generali, -1,51%, while it appears that Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone, who sits on the board of the Trieste-based company as deputy chairman and adviser, bought 500.000 shares of the Leone on the market, increasing his weight in the group's shareholding to 3,59% and consolidating his position as second partner.

Mediaset loses, -1,33%, embroiled in the lawsuit with Vivendi, while the judge imposes an attempt at conciliation by October, on the French claim for damages.

Fiat remains weak, -0,59%, but recovers from the morning. The investigation opened by a French public prosecutor's office on the emissions of the Italian-American company's diesel engines weighs on the title. Ferrari tonic: +1,04%. Among the oil companies in reverse Saipem: -1,1%.

Out of the main basket Beghelli explodes, +20,14%, which shows a marked improvement in 2016 accounts and returns to the dividend after 5 years (0,02 euro per share). Hera was also positive, +2,14%, with analysts raising the target, after the excellent consolidated results.
