Borsa, Berlusconi's future sinks Mediaset

The shares of the Alfa Romeo are the worst in Piazza Affari - Political uncertainty weighs in the first place, with operators who give credit to the possibility that the Letta government will fall during the week - On Wednesday at Palazzo Madama there will be a vote on Silvio Berlusconi's forfeiture from the post of senator.

Borsa, Berlusconi's future sinks Mediaset

“Politics is central to Mediaset. It's a bit of a benchmark”. Thus a trader in Piazza Affari, where at the end of the morning the shares of the Biscione sink by more than four and a half points. The stock suffers the worst loss of the entire Ftse Mib, which in the same minutes leaves about two points on the field, mainly due to the decline in bank shares.

To weigh is first political uncertainty, with operators giving credit to the possibility that the Letta government will fall this week. Two issues above all divide the Executive and the majority: the forfeiture of Silvio Berlusconi from the office of Senator (on which we will vote on Wednesday at Palazzo Madama) after his definitive sentence at the end of the Mediaset trial and the revision of the IMU. The Pdl would like to completely abolish the tax on first homes, while the Democratic Party is pushing for a remodulation in favor of the less well-off, considering the lack of resources.

The uncertain future of the Cavaliere drags down the shares of the family business, but it is worth remembering that the Mediaset stock has nonetheless achieved more than positive performances in recent months. The half-yearly increase is 86,6%, while in the last year the recorded gain even reaches 105,4%. And this despite the fact that the Alfa Romeo recorded a loss of more than two points in August.
