Sales day in Piazza Affari on the Fiat share, which in the early afternoon dropped more than two percentage points, to 7,465 euros, the second worst performance on the Ftse Mib after that of Wdf.

The negative data on registrations released yesterday after the markets closed weigh on the shares of the Lingotto. According to the Ministry of Transport, 131.062 cars were registered in Italy in May, 3,8% less than in the same period last year.

Fiat Chrysler did worse than the market average, recording an 11% drop in sales, with 36.720 cars registered. The Lingotto share once again fell below the 30% threshold, going from 30,16% in May 2013 to 27,9% in May 2014.

In particular, the Alfa Romeo (-18,86%), Fiat (-12,40%) and Lancia (-6,27%) brands performed poorly. The only positive note was the performance of the Jeep brand, which with almost 900 registrations recorded a leap of 70,48%

However, the Turin-based company did well in the United States, where sales of the Fiat brand grew by 18% last May.
