Black Thursday in Piazza Affari for the Mediaset stock, which left more than five percentage points on the field a few minutes after the closing, at 2,66 euros. That of the Biscione is the worst drop in the entire Ftse Mib.
To trigger the wave of sales on Mediaset shares was the publication of particularly negative numbers on advertising sales in August.
The period in question is traditionally weak for the whole sector, but this year's result is worse than the most pessimistic expectations: in general, advertising investments fell by11,3% on an annual basis (-2,7% from the beginning of the year), but the television sector recorded an even greater collapse, equal to -18% (+0,9% since the beginning of the year).
