Stock Exchange: Mediobanca exploit after Bofa "buy" and request for filing of Nagel case

Mediobanca tonic in Piazza Affari on the first trading day of the week. There are two causes for the strong purchases on the stock: the buyout by Bofa and the request for dismissal arrived today on the Nagel – Ligresti case.

La Bank of America Merrill Lynch it resumed hedging the institute's shares, assigning them a "buy" and a price target of 11 euros. According to US bank analysts, Mediobanca would be "at the forefront of Italy's restructuring and a different angle among Italian financial stocks thanks to its mix of assets" such as consumer credit, internet banking and corporate banking.

According to the report, the Piazzetta Cuccia bank appears to be "well positioned to support revenue growth in a context of low returns" and should benefit from the Italian economic restructuring, thanks to which "its advice will be in high demand.” The consumer credit sector should provide "long-term growth potential", while excess capital should be strengthened by the sale of 3% of Generali which, according to the latest news, should arrive by June 2016 and, according to Bofa , could lead to the disbursement of an extraordinary dividend.

But the news of the day is undoubtedly the dismissal of the charge of impeding supervisory activity against the CEO of Mediobanca Alberto Nagel and Salvatore Ligresti in the context of the so-called "papello" case. The investigating judge of Milan Roberto Arnaldi would in fact have accepted the request to that effect presented by the prosecutor Luigi Orsi, owner of the file. The reason for the decision lies in the "groundlessness of the news” of crime.

Returning to Business Square, the share price, after having reached an intraday high of 9,51 euros with an increase of 4,3%, currently rises by 3,52% to € 9,42, with volumes equal to the average of the last month calculated on the entire session.
