Stock market: spread effect on banks, luxury falls back

Positive Piazza Affari in the middle of the day, driven by the good mood of bank stocks, driven by the spread below 200 points, and by the exploits of Mediaset (which, however, downsizes at the end of the morning) – Luxury instead falls: Ferragamo over -3% – The other European stock exchanges are bad – Spreads further down below 200 basis points.

BANKS SUPPORT THE RISE OF MILAN. LUXURY GOES BACK, NEW LEAP BY MEDIASET

Milan still up, Madrid -0,02%, slides into negative ground after yesterday's rally. The Ftse Mib index rose by 0,45%, to 19.55. The Paris Stock Exchange falls by 0,14%, London records a drop of 0,39%. Frankfurt also down -0,2% despite the good macro data. The data from the Beige Book will be released in the USA in the evening.

On the eve of the ECB directorate meeting, the fall in government bond yields continues. The 10-year BTP is traded at a yield of 3,85% and the spread with the German Bund has decreased to 196 (-2 basis points). The European Stoxx index of the banking sector gains 1,4% driven by the increase in the value of bonds held by credit institutions.

In Milan Unicredit salt by 2,24%, MontePaschi+2,96%. Strong increases also for Mediobanca + 0,87% Ubi + 2,36% Banco Popular +2,42% and Pop.Emilia +2,57%. Mark the pace Banca Popolare di Milano -0,8% after the leap on the eve. New leap forward by Mediaset + 2,09%.

Weighs on Fiat -1,27% the possible downgrading of Moody's. It also moves back Prysmian –2,18%. Finmeccanica -0,18%. Citigroup has revised downwards the entire Energy sector. Eni –0,57% was rated as one of the “least favorites”. Finally, the luxury. Sharp decline of Ferragamo -3,77%, followed by Tod's -0,85% and Yoox -1,98%.

Luxottica, unchanged, has entered into an agreement to acquire glasses.com from WellPoint. Glasses.com has developed a virtual technology which, using the three-dimensional image of the face, allows the end customer to try on the glasses as if they were actually being worn.

leap of Piquadro +6,56% after the accounts for the first nine months closed with a turnover of 45,327 million, an increase of 11,9% (+17,1% in the third quarter).
