Stock market: banks under stress, Mediaset flies

Positive European price lists with the exception of London. Good Madrid after the pro-unity demonstrations. In Piazza Affari, credit suffers and the Biscione is on the rise, waiting for the talks with Vivendi to lead to a solution to the Premium affair. The utilities are doing well with A2A and Acea. Enel on the comeback, Atlantia barely moving after the Spanish Consob's go-ahead

The European stock exchanges got off to a good start but lost momentum as the hours went by. And so, if Madrid remains the best place after the demonstrations in favor of national unity with Caixabank up 2% after the decision to move its registered office to Valencia, in the middle of the day Milan resists between ups and downs around parity. It is the banks, mainly, that weigh down the list despite the favorable outcome announced by the ECB on the stress tests.

In France, Crédit Agricole loses more than 1% after the CEO said the bank is interested in the German state-owned 15% stake in Commerzbank (+0,2%) should it be put up for sale.

In Piazza Affari, the Ftse Mib rises by a limited 0,13%, with the Ftse All Share registering +0,08%, while in Paris the Cac40 registers +0,07%, in Frankfurt the Dax30 +0,09 % and in London the Ftse100 slipped by 0,19%. In Madrid however, the Ibex35 gains 0,73%.

In Milan, Mediaset is off to a flying start on the basis of the negotiation hypotheses with Vivendi, and increased the increase to almost 7% (6,68% to be exact at 3,096 euros). Operators are looking positively at the possible settlement of the long dispute over the failure to purchase Premium and the possibility for the Italian group to obtain compensation from the former French shareholder.
Vivendi on the Paris Stock Exchange climbs 0,59%. Telecom Italia moved little at 0,765 euros + 0,26%.

But as we said, in Piazza Affari it is the banks and financial institutions that weigh down the price list with Bper -1,78%, Banco Bpm -1,31%, Ubi Banca -1,12%, Finecobank -0,90%, Banca Generali -0,90% and Unipol -0,87%.

Well the utilities with A2A +1,06%, Acea +1,14%, Italgas +1,31%.

Enel goes back over 5 euros, +0,72%, after announcing the sale of 80% of the Mexican safe which owns photovoltaic plants for 1,7 megawatts. The closing is expected by the end of the year and will yield 1,35 billion US dollars to the Italian group which will continue to maintain management of the plants.

Atlantia benefits from the Spanish Consob's OK on the takeover bid for Abertis. The share initially lengthened its pace in Piazza Affari and then slowed down by +0,4% to 27,7 euros.
