Positive morning for Atlantia in Piazza Affari (+0,37% in mid-morning at 13,62 euros per share), with the markets reopening after the news of the merger with Gemina, the increase in the Benetton share in the group (Edizione srl is now at 48%) and the announcement by CEO Castellucci that the company's future will be far from Alitalia.
"They are incompatible roles", said the managing director Giovanni Castellucci on Tuesday, because Atlantia's role "is that of infrastructure developer". Therefore Atlantia in the medium term will no longer be a shareholder of Alitalia, its role is only temporary to allow "ferrying Alitalia into safe hands, which gives a long-term perspective". Gemina instead falls in Piazza Affari, at -0,34% in mid-morning.
