In January, the value of the portfolio of Italian government bonds held by foreign subjects rose to 702,813 billion euro from 681,892 billion in December. The public administration borrowing requirement in Italy increased to 10 billion in February and the public debt rose to 2.363,7 billion.

The euro appreciates slightly to 1,131 against the dollar.

Brent oil down slightly to 71 dollars a barrel, -0,6%. Down Eni -1,3% and Saipem -1,1%.

The good performance of the Italian Stock Exchange is linked to the good performance of banks driven by M&A hypotheses. The Bigs rise: Unicredit + 1,7%. Intesa Sanpaolo +1,3%. In great evidence B for Bank e Finecobank, both at +3%, Bpm bank + 2,3%.

Mediaset rises by 1,1%, despite the denial of the negotiations with ProSiebensat. Mediobanca Securities is neutral on the stock, sees the merger hypothesis as positive and believes that a slowdown in advertising could speed up the process even if governance issues remain to be resolved.

Telecom Italy +1,1%, after the new indications on the hypothesis of integration with Open Fiber.

Among the industrialists Brembo +2,4% reaches new highs for the year after Alberto Bombassei has returned to talk about m&a with the aim of doubling the size of the group.

Little move Fiat Chrysler at 14,20 euro.
