Borgo diVino tour: ten stops to taste quality wines and make sustainable tourism among historic villages

Ten weekends dedicated to good drinking and territorial beauty: "Borgo diVino in tour" is back, the traveling event promoted by the Association "The most beautiful villages in Italy" under the banner of sustainable tourism that offers the public the opportunity to get to know quality wines and taste them inside contexts of particular suggestion, valued as a whole for their tourist offer. In tasting there will be approx 900 labels – white, red, rosé, sparkling and trendy wines such as refermented wines – from all over the national territory and over 300 wineries.

Conceived as a tool capable of helping to stimulate the economic induced activities of the host territories, Borgo diVino in Tour has met with broad public approval in past editions promoting both the local tourist offer and the productive heritage of the most beautiful villages in Italy, where wine productions occupy a prominent place: labels of national and international importance, large and small productions, sometimes real oenological pearls that translate the work, philosophy and passion of the many "wine craftsmen".

Relaunch food and wine tourism to safeguard a great heritage of traditions

The strong point of each event will be the involvement of the main local players (associations, protection consortia, catering establishments, accommodation facilities, etc.), essential to best respond to the demand of tourists and visitors interested in living the place as an experience.

Inaugural stage of Borgo DiVino in Tour, from 6 to 8 May, will be at San Giorgio of Valpolicella, a few km from Verona. Afterwards, the Tour will cross some of the most evocative glimpses of Italy: from the enchanting panoramas of the Langhe, precisely to Neive in Piedmont (May 20-21-22), to arrive at City of Sant'Angelo in Abruzzo (3-4-5 June), Brisighella in Emilia Romagna (June 17-18-19), Cisternino in Puglia (1-2-3 July), a Borgo Santa Caterina At the "Carrara" Academy in Bergamo (July 8-9-10), Grottammare in the Marches (22-23-24 July), Vietri sul Mare in Campania and its Borgo di Albori (September 2-3-4), up to Nemi (9-10-11 September), a Lazio village which, although not included among the most beautiful villages in Italy, represents the historic stage where the Borgo diVino format was born, which hosted the first 6 editions of the initiative.

Last stop of the tour a spello (7-8-9 October), in the heart of Umbria, a few steps from Perugia.

Within the host village a will be traced tasting itinerary that will touch the places of greatest tourist interest with stands dedicated to wineries and an original training course on the world of wine, told in about 20 exhibition panels. Each event will offer additional ad hoc content related to the host location (e.g.: promotion of typical products, typical gastronomy and traditional crafts, guided tours, exhibitions, shows and events organized by local realities or associations, etc.).

Borgo diVino - says Fiorello Primi, President of "The most beautiful villages in Italy - is one of the most important national events that the Association, thanks to the organizational contribution of Valica, promotes to relaunch food and wine tourism, an important sector for the recovery post covid. The agricultural productions, above all that of wine, represent a fundamental element for the protection of the landscape and the environment and to ensure a future for the communities living in the villages. The enhancement and promotion of agricultural production is an integral part of the mission of the Association, which aims to maintain and enhance the great heritage of traditions, culture and art of which the communities of the towns and surrounding areas are jealous guardians.

In 2022 - concludes Luca Cotichini, from Valica - we will double the stages and touch 5 other regions. In 2023 we will aim to cover the entire national territory. With Borgo di Vino, Valica creates another format capable of giving authentic experiences to our large audience who follow us on the various sites.
