2017 nursery bonus of 1000 euros: guide in 8 points

After the success of the bonus mom tomorrow 2017, will also arrive in the next few days nest bonus, another important novelty included in the family package of the last Budget law. It is still not possible to apply for it, but the deadline is now approaching: by May 18, INPS will have to publish the operating instructions for this new tool. Let's see what it is.

1) WHAT IS IT?

The 2017 nursery bonus is a contribution of 1000 euros a year paid by INPS in 11 months of around 90,9 euros each.

2) WHO IS IT FOR?

To parents with a child born or adopted on or after January 2016, XNUMX. Like tomorrow's mom bonus, the nursery bonus doesn't include any income ceiling. However, there is a time limit: when the child turns three, he is no longer entitled to the allowance.

In addition, the parent submitting the application must meet some requirements:
– be the person who physically pays the asylum fee;
– be resident in Italy and live with the child;
– have EU citizenship or have an EU residence permit for long-term residents.

3) WHAT IS IT FOR?

To pay the fees of public and private nursery schools, or to finance "forms of support at home - reads the text of the maneuver - in favor of children under the age of three suffering from serious chronic pathologies", who therefore all kindergarten they can't go.

4) HOW TO APPLY?

The 2017 nursery bonus must be requested from INPS via the citizen services portal. The operating procedure for accessing the contribution is not yet available, because INPS must first publish a circular with instructions. In recent days, the Minister for Regional Affairs, Enrico Costa, recalled that this communication must arrive by 18 May.

5) WHICH DOCUMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED?

Parents must send INPS the documentation certifying the enrollment of the child in kindergarten and the payment of the fee. In fact, therefore, the nursery bonus is a refund.

6) CAN IT BE COMBINED WITH SIMILAR FORMS OF SUPPORT?

No. The 2017 nursery bonus cannot be combined with the tax deduction on nursery school enrollment fees (it is a 19% reduction applicable to a maximum expenditure of 632 euros, therefore the value of the discount cannot exceed 120 euros) or with nursery or baby-sitting vouchers (recognized to employed or self-employed working mothers in replacement, even partial, of parental leave).

As in the case of the coupling mom bonus tomorrow – baby bonus, the similarity of names can cause confusion, so you have to be careful: asylum bonus and nursery voucher are different measures and those who take advantage of one cannot ask for the other. For clarification on how the second works, refer to the INPS file.

7) WHAT ARE THE EXPENDITURE LIMITS?

The government has earmarked a maximum expenditure of 144 million euros for the nursery bonus for 2017, which will rise to 250 million next year, 300 million in 2019 and 330 million from 2020 onwards.

8) WHAT HAPPENS IF THEY ARE EXCEEDED?

In the event of "deviations, even prospectively, from the planned spending limit - the Budget law continues - INPS does not consider further applications". This means that it is a race of speed: the money goes to whoever is quicker to apply, not to whoever needs it most.
