Digital export bonus: the call has been extended, now it is also for small manufacturing companies

The possibility of submitting the application to obtain the has been reopened Digital Export Bonus, a project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the ICE Agency managed by Invitalia which aims to support the manufacturing companies in internationalization activities through digital solutions. He has been extended the period useful for companies for completing and submitting applications, initially set for 15 July 2022, due to the availability of residual funds.

Digital export bonus: who can participate in the tender

It is a support to promote internationalization through digital solutions that include the creation of e-commerce and communication sites through digital marketing activities, consultancy and subscriptions to visibility management platforms. Now they can also apply small manufacturing companies (with Primary ATECO code between the codes 10.00.00 and 33), also set up in the form of networks and consortia, which were initially excluded from the contribution which was dedicated only to micro-enterprises.

 micro-enterprise means a company with fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover or balance sheet total not exceeding 2 million euros; on the other hand, a small enterprise is defined as one that has fewer than 50 employees and an annual turnover or an annual balance sheet total that does not exceed 10 million euros.

Digital export bonus: contributions

It is a grant granted under the de minimis regime for the following amounts:

  • 4.000 € to businesses for eligible expenses of no less than 5.000 euros, net of VAT
  • 22.500 € to networks and consortia for eligible expenses of no less than 25.000 euros, net of VAT.

What expenses are financed

The bonus finances the acquisition costs digital solutions for export, supplied by companies registered in the list of authorized companies.

Performance aims to support i internationalization processes through:

  • Creation of e-commerce systems abroad, websites and/or mobile apps;
  • Creation of e-commerce systems that provide for the automation of the operations of transfer, updating and management of articles from and to the web;
  • Creation of ancillary services to e-commerce;
  • Implementation of a communication, information and promotion strategy for the digital export channel;
  • Digital marketing aimed at developing internationalization activities;
  • CMS services (Content Management System);
  • Registration and/or subscription to SaaS (Software as a Service) platforms for managing visibility and content marketing expenses;
  • consultancy services for the development of organizational processes and human capital;
  • Upgrade of the hardware equipment necessary for the realization of the services listed above.

Digital export bonus: how to apply

Le questions must be presented by the legal representative of the applicants exclusively online, via the Invitalia portal.

To apply for the benefits, you must be in possession of:

  • SPIDs;
  • Certified e-mail box (PEC) active;
  • Digital signature;

Finally, it should be remembered that each company - individually or through a network or consortium - can submit only one request for assistance.
