Bombassei: "From Marcegaglia exaggerated tones"

The vice president of Confidustria slammed the current president for his utterances yesterday against the unions – As regards article 18, “the problem must be discussed and it is an obstacle for young people” – Praise and appreciation instead for Marchionne: “ He saved a company and jobs: that's what counts”.

Bombassei: "From Marcegaglia exaggerated tones"

Alberto Bombassei, leading candidate for Confindustria, has slammed its current president, Emma Marcegaglia. “Yesterday's tone may have been exaggerated“, declared the entrepreneur from Bergamo, referring to Marcegaglia's declarations on the struggle of the unions for the maintenance of article 18. “Yes”, that of the president of Viale dell'Astronomia was a misstep, because the “article 18 problem exists”.

And “should be discussed” as it represents a “brake on the recruitment of young people. This is a negative element”, explained Bombassei, “if jobs and investments are not created, we will not be able to provide answers to the problems of young people”. However, the number two of Confindustria wanted to underline that in his company he has "never been hindered" by article 18.

On the other hand, the praises for the CEO of Fiat are wasted. “Marchionne made moves that saved the national auto system,” Bombassei said. "It's strange how Italians always look at the glass as half empty", continued the Chairman of Brembo, “Marchionne moved the Panda business from Poland to Pomigliano. This is an act of Italianness that must be recognized and which, on the other hand, nobody recognizes. We only remember the Pomigliano agreement which divided the trade union front”.

Finally, Brembo's CEO expressed his satisfaction with Marchionne's announcement, who said he was ready to return to Confindustria in the event that Bombassei becomes its president. “Marchionne's appreciation makes me extremely happy”he concluded.
