Bologna/Opificio Golinelli – Ten million euros for a dream come true

The Golinelli Foundation participates in the 39th edition of Arte Fiera with the model of Opificio Golinelli, the center for knowledge and culture which will open at the end of June in Bologna. The 200x200cm model, created by diverserighestudio, is placed inside a stand entirely dedicated to the Foundation which since 1988 has been promoting education, training and the dissemination of scientific culture. The public who will visit the stand will be welcomed by the slogan: In 2015 we will never sleep at the Golinelli Foundation. Proof of how decisive this year is for the future development of the Foundation's activities.

"Contemporary art supports us in understanding the world and stimulates our critical and creative spirit to face a future full of unpredictability and chaos", says Marino Golinelli, founder and president of the Foundation. “With the opening of Opificio Golinelli – he adds – my dream of investing in everyone's future comes true: a concrete initiative to get ready to live in a different world”.

OPIFICIO GOLINELLI: 10 MILLION EUROS FOR A DREAM THAT COMES TRUE

The birth of Opificio Golinelli is scheduled for June 2015 – a new house with an ancient name – the Center for knowledge and culture in Bologna. Adjacent to the 3-hectare industrial area between via Emilia Ponente, Prati di Caprara and via Paolo Nanni Costa, occupied until 2008 by the Società Fonderie Sabiem, Opificio Golinelli is being built thanks to a redevelopment that required an investment of around 10 million euros. The approximately 9.000 m2015 space will be operational from October 2000 and will host the main training, educational and cultural activities of the Foundation. The Center is divided into independent pavilions and structures, connected by a system of promenades, gardens and squares that follow the configuration of the city's public space. The architectural project is by diverserighestudio. Opificio Golinelli, with spaces dedicated to children, young people and adults, will be the beating heart of the education, training, research, dissemination and promotion of science and the arts carried out by the Golinelli Foundation. If the Foundation's activities have involved more than 850.000 people since 100.000, the new spaces will be able to welcome more than XNUMX visits a year.

DEGREES OF FREEDOM: THE ART AND SCIENCE EXHIBITION AT MAMBO

This is the title of the new exhibition produced by the Golinelli Foundation which will open on 17 September at MAMbo, the Museum of Modern Art in Bologna, and close on 22 November 2015. An art and science exhibition on where and how our possibility of being free is born or not be. Curated by Giovanni Carrada and Cristiana Perrella, "Degrees of Freedom" will pose ancient questions and new answers. Are we always the ones to decide? Are you born or made free? Does freedom end where the rights of others begin or where our brain says? What freedoms will we need in a hundred years? Through the double gaze of science and art, the exhibition explores one of the most important themes of our lives. Science, for the secrets of the mind that it is finally revealing to us. Art, because it has always revealed them to us.
