CAR STAMP 2019: THE DISCOUNT FOR CARS TO BE SCRAPPED

In reality, in order to take advantage of the relief introduced with the new budget law, it is necessary to obtain the certificate of historical significance (CRS), which however does not provide for any selection: it will also be issued to the oldest of the small cars, provided that they are well maintained and that the owner completes a self-certification.

But pay attention to the times. For road tax expired in December 2018, the discount is possible only if the owner has had the foresight to annotate the Crs in the vehicle registration document by the end of that same month. Otherwise he will continue to pay the full stamp duty, at least for this year.

The situation is different for those with maturities later in the year. Just write down the certificate (which requires a visit to the Motor Authority) by the last day of the previous tax period. Translation: if the stamp expires in May, the annotation must be made by May 31st.

But how many cars are there normal still in circulation who will be entitled to the new discount on the stamp duty?

According to reports from Il Sole 24 Ore, the twenty-year-old model that is still most likely to be encountered on the street is the Fiat Punto first series (more than 180 thousand still circulate). It follows in second position Fiat Uno (111 thousand), while the bronze medal goes to Fiat 500 (89 thousand). Immediately off the podium, another Fiat: the Type (just under 55 thousand).

The first model that does not belong to the Turin brand is the Volkswagen Golf (40). Another Italian closes the top-5, the Lancia Y.

Last warning: in Lazio, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna the regional rules overlap with the national legislation, so it is not yet clear which legislation should be referred to.
