Car tax 2015 towards price increase up to 12%

The draft of the Public Administration reform also envisages the establishment of a new regional registration tax, which should enter into force in 2015: the Regions would therefore lose the portion of revenue relating to the first few months of the year, which is expected to recover precisely with the increase on the 2015 stamp duty.

Next year the car tax will cost more. This is foreseen in article 15 of the draft law on the reform of the public administration which will arrive on the table of the Council of Ministers tomorrow. In particular, the text specifies that the annual amount of car taxes may increase, for 2015 alone, up to a maximum of 12%.

The draft also provides for the establishment of a new regional registration tax (Iri), which will only affect new purchases. The transition to IRI should take place during 2015: the Regions would therefore lose the part of the revenue relating to the first months of the year, which is expected to be recovered precisely with the increase on the 2015 stamp duty.
