Arera – the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment – ​​announced that on the basis of the average trend of the Italian wholesale market in March 2023 and for consumption in the same month, for protected market households one registers decrease of -13,4% in the cost of the bill compared to the month of February 2023. It is the third consecutive decline recorded in the new year which adds to the declines of January (-34,2%) and February (-13%).

For the month of March, which recorded an even lower average wholesale price than in February, the price of gas raw material (CMEMm), for customers with contracts in protected conditions, is equal to € 46,58 / MWh.

La reduction for the month of March, in terms of final effects, it brings gas expenditure for the typical household in the rolling year (April 2022-March 2023) to around 1.560,7 euros, +0,7% compared to the equivalent 12 months of the previous year (April 2021- March 2022). Since August, the price of gas has gone from 340 euros per megawatt hour to the current 45-50 euros in the last week. Compared to the quarter of 2022 from April to June you will pay about 55% in less.

In the first quarter of 2023, Arera zeroed the general system charges for gas, as required by the “2023 Budget Law”. The negative UG2 component for gas consumption up to 5.000 sm5/year and the XNUMX% VAT reduction on gas were also confirmed.
