Bills, less expensive electricity and more expensive gas from October

The Energy Authority is changing families: on average, Italian families will save almost 100 euros a year – Electricity bills go down by 1,1%, while gas bills go up by 1,7%.

The electricity bill goes down again, but the gas bill goes up. The Emergy Authority announces that from 1st October for the typical family (average electricity consumption of 2.700 kWh per year and a committed power of 3 kW) the electricity bill will register a drop of 1,1 %, while for gas the adjustment will be +1,7%. In detail, for electricity, the expenditure for the typical family in the rolling year (between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2016) will be 499 euros, with a decrease of 1,1% compared to the equivalent 12 months of the previous year (January 1, 2015-December 31, 2015), corresponding to a saving of 5 euros.

For gas, the typical household's expenditure in the same period will be approximately 1.033 Euros, with a reduction of 8,1%, corresponding to a saving of 91 Euros compared to the rolling year. In total then the typical family for electricity and gas in 2016 will spend 96 euros less than in 2015.
