Boeri: "The generation of 75 retired at 1980"

"If the 1980 generation were to retire with the current rules which provide for 70 years, with the registered contribution interruption they will retire after two-three or even five years because they do not meet the minimum requirements", explained the INPS president .

Boeri: "The generation of 75 retired at 1980"

Two years without contributions will cost the generation of 1980 a delay in obtaining a pension of up to five years, thus bringing the possibility of retiring to 75 years of age. This was suggested by the president of INPS, Stefano Boeri,
on the sidelines of his speech at the Graduation day at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, during which he also gave the official start to theoperation of the orange envelopes.

“We wanted to study a generation that may be indicative – explained the president of INPS -, that of 1980 and we reconstructed the social security account statement. We have taken into consideration employees, but also artisans, people who are 36 today and who probably see a two-year gap in contributions due to episodes of unemployment. Two years without contributions".

According to Boeri, “now if the generation 1980 should he retire with the current rules which provide for the age of 70, with the registered contribution interruption he will retire after two-three or even five years because he does not meet the minimum requirements".
