Boeing: UK bans 737 Max, EU ready to block

Yet another stop for Boeing. The UK has decided to ban the Boeing 737 Max 8 and, according to Bloomberg, it could soon be followed by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The list of countries and airlines that have decided to stop the Boeing 737 after the Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 disaster that cost the lives of 157 people is therefore getting longer.

The same decision was taken today by the civil aviation of Australia (temporary block), the authority of Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia and the airlines Aerolineas Argentinas and the Indian Jet Airways, which has five Boeing 737 Max in his fleet. Yesterday the stop came from China, Indonesia, Ethiopia and the Cayman.

For the moment the United States does not join the list but they have asked Boeing to modify the software and the MCAS control system, Maneuvering Characteristics augmentation system, within the month of April, a system that can automatically lower the nose of the aircraft if the data should indicate a risk of stalling.

A request already accepted by the US giant which has already announced a software update of the entire 737 Max fleet, following requests from the Federal Aviation Administration, which also include an update to the pilot training manual.

Finally, today it emerged that Boeing had warned the airlines four months ago, after the crash of the Lion Air plane after take-off from Addis Ababa, about a technical problem with the instrumentation.

It should be emphasized that on Wall Street the title experiences a new day of fire. After the -5,3% suffered in yesterday's session, March 11, the shares of the giant of the skies today drop a further 5,18% to 379,30 dollars.
