Bnp Paribas aims at Germany

Right now, Germany is the country everyone wants to bet on in Europe. And the French bank Bnp Paribas also wants to invest in Germany. In fact, its "medium-term" goal is to enter the "top five" investment banks in Germany. This was stated by Torsten Murke, who has been at the head of the group's financing and investment bank in the country for several months, in an interview with the French newspaper "Les Echos".

“In Germany, the banking market is growing faster than gross domestic product. We need to be more present in this country,” Murke said. In addition to the activities of "share issues, mergers and acquisitions", Bnp Paribas plans to conquer market shares in Germany "in the granting of credit", "in trade financing services, in liquidity management, in the coverage of financial risk" Murke explained.

This morning in Piazza Affari, the Bnp Paribas share, just a few minutes after opening, gained more than 1% to 34,88 euros per share. The stock is also in positive territory on the Paris Stock Exchange: +1,43% at 35 euros.
